37 Moroccans were deported from Algeria through the “Zoug Mughal” crossing, amid demands to settle the conditions of the stranded people.

The day before yesterday, Tuesday, the “Zog Baghal” border crossing witnessed the delivery of a new batch of Moroccan citizens deported fromAlgeriaTheir number reached 37 people, who were in an illegal situation or were candidates for immigration, according to what was confirmed by the Moroccan Association for Assisting Migrants in Difficult Situations.

The association explained, in official data, that all the deportees were male, noting that this operation is the third of its kind since the beginning of the current year, in an ongoing context of deportations across the eastern border.

According to the same source, most of those concerned come from the cities of the eastern region, especially Oujda and Nador, in addition to other regions, including Tangier, Taza, Taounate, Fez, Meknes, Guelmim, Laayoune and Azilal.

In parallel, the association revealed that it is following more than 550 files of Moroccans who are in various situations within Algerian territory, including more than 120 cases in the process of deportation, including prisoners and detainees awaiting the completion of legal procedures.

It also reported receiving new files on a daily basis, some of which are related to people who were sentenced to initial sentences of up to more than ten years in prison, which poses increasing legal and humanitarian challenges.

In this context, the association announced its intention to write toAlgerian authorities, including the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministries of Justice and Interior, to demand exceptional measures, including issuing a comprehensive amnesty that includes Moroccan detainees and prisoners, along with other migrants from sub-Saharan African countries.

It also called for the handing over of the bodies of six deceased Moroccan citizens, located in mortuaries in a number of Algerian cities, to enable their families to complete the burial procedures and establish aFuneral ceremony.
