The National Union of Public Health Practitioners corresponds with “HAKA” regarding scenes from an Algerian television program

Algeria –The National Union of Public Health Practitioners sent an official letter to the head of the audiovisual control authority in Algeria, against the backdrop of the broadcast of scenes on a television program during the month of Ramadan 2026, which the union considered “offensive to the image of the doctor and in violation of professional ethics.”

According to the content of the document dated February 24, 2026, the union expressed its dissatisfaction with what it described as “the display of scenes showing the doctor in an image that harms his professional reputation,” considering that this reflects negatively on the image of public health practitioners and affects community confidence in the health sector.

The correspondent indicated that the clips in question were circulated on television and social media platforms, which expanded the scope of their spread, calling on the regulatory authority to intervene and take the necessary measures in accordance with the laws regulating the audiovisual sector.

The union stressed that it does not oppose freedom of artistic creativity, but stressed the need to respect social and professional values, especially when dealing with topics related to the health sector, because of its sensitivity and direct impact on citizens.

The union concluded its correspondence with a call to remedy what it considered “abuses,” while stressing the importance of preserving the dignity of health practitioners and preserving their image within society.
