His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, hosted, on the evening of Thursday, April 23, 2026, in the Sittinia – Sahrij El Souani in the city of Meknes, a dinner in honor of the invitees and participants in the 18th session of the International Forum for Agriculture in Morocco (SIAM 2026), chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, within the framework of the dynamism that characterizes this prominent international agricultural event.
This banquet was attended by a number of senior officials, including the heads of the two chambers of Parliament, members of the government, as well as African ministers and officials in charge of the agricultural sector, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Morocco, as well as the governor of the Fez-Meknes region, governor of the Fez prefecture, governor of the Meknes prefecture, and civil and military figures.
In this context, the Prime Minister supervised the delivery of excellence awards to a number of actors in the agricultural sector, including the 12 best production units at the regional level, and the 12 best units according to production chains, in addition to 16 awards for the best contribution within the forum poles, in recognition of their efforts in developing the sector and enhancing food security.
The International Agricultural Forum in Meknes is one of the most prominent agricultural events at the African and international levels, as it constitutes a strategic platform for exchanging experiences, presenting innovations, and strengthening partnerships, in the context of challenges related to food security and climate change.
The organization of this session, which extends from April 20 to 28, 2026, comes within the framework of continuing efforts to develop the agricultural sector in Morocco, strengthen its position as a basic lever of the national economy, and support food sovereignty.
