Important news for drivers: Morocco and Burkina Faso adopt mutual recognition of driving licenses

Rabat –On Thursday, the Council of Government reviewed a new agreement between Morocco and Burkina Faso regarding the mutual recognition of national driving licenses, in a move aimed at facilitating the movement of citizens and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement, which was signed last December 10 in the Burkinabé capital, Ouagadougou, includes the mutual approval of Moroccan and Burkinabe driving licenses in accordance with the legal procedures in force in the two countries.

This agreement was presented during the work of the Government Council by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, according to what was confirmed by the official government spokesman, Mustafa Paytas, during the press conference that followed the government council.

This agreement comes in the context of strengthening Moroccan-African relations, developing bilateral cooperation in a number of areas related to transportation and administrative services, and facilitating the residence of citizens between the two countries.

In a related context, the Government Council also approved a proposal for an appointment to a high position, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 92 of the Constitution, where Saeed Allam was appointed director of the Education Inspectors Training Center, affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports.

Observers believe that the agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses would ease a number of administrative procedures facing drivers and residents between the two countries, and also reflects an increasing trend towards strengthening Moroccan partnerships with African countries.
