Within the framework of solidarity activities related to the holy month of Ramadan, the branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Mauritania organized, on Wednesday in the capital, Nouakchott, the distribution of food baskets for the benefit of a number of families in vulnerable situations, in a humanitarian initiative aimed at alleviating the social burdens on needy groups during the holy month.

This process witnessed the presence of the head of the branch, Sheikh Boun Omar Lee, along with Secretary-General Mohamed El Hanafi Daha and a number of Mauritanian officials, where the importance of consolidating a culture of solidarity and social solidarity was emphasized, especially during the month of Ramadan, in which the values ​​of synergy and cooperation among members of society are renewed.

In a statement on the occasion, the Secretary-General of the branch, Mohamed El-Hanafi Deha, explained that this solidarity initiative reflects the spirit of Islamic brotherhood and the values ​​of cooperation encouraged by the Islamic religion, noting that it falls within the framework of the vision and humanitarian initiatives of the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The spokesman added that the Mohammed VI Foundation for African Scholars, thanks to the royal directives, has become a space for disseminating knowledge and consolidating moderate religious authority, in addition to its involvement in social and humanitarian work in various countries of the African continent, stressing that the role of the foundation is not limited to religious supervision, but rather extends to keeping pace with social issues and alleviating the suffering of needy groups.

This initiative falls within a broader solidarity program implemented by the Foundation’s branches in a number of African countries during the month of Ramadan, where activities include multiple areas, including social and health support, environmental, educational and cultural activities, as well as initiatives directed to benefit people with disabilities, within the framework of promoting the values ​​of solidarity and brotherhood within African societies.
