Tunisia –The security services were able to dismantle a criminal network active in drug promotion and illegal trafficking in alcoholic beverages, led by a person in his fifties. Research revealed that he was relying on his minor son to facilitate some activities related to the promotion and camouflage his movements.
This operation came after the opening of an investigation against the background of a complaint submitted by the wife of the main suspect, regarding her exposure to violence, which led the relevant authorities to initiate field investigations that revealed the presence of activities suspected of being linked to drug promotion and illicit trafficking in alcoholic beverages.
In coordination with the competent Public Prosecution, security personnel carried out a raid on the house in question, which resulted in the arrest of the main suspect, his brother, and another person suspected of being linked to the network, in addition to the arrest of a girl who was the subject of investigation by security and judicial authorities.
The operation also made it possible to seize quantities of narcotic drugs and alcoholic beverages prepared for sale outside legal channels, as well as sums of money suspected of being derived from these activities.
Preliminary research revealed, according to available data, that the main suspect was exploiting his minor son in some operations of transporting and distributing prohibited materials, in an attempt to avoid suspicions and divert attention from his illegal activities.
All detainees have been placed under judicial investigation measures by order of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to identify all possible extensions of this case and uncover all criminal acts attributed to the suspects, before referring them to justice for legal action.
