Doha –The Qatari Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 25 people of Arab nationalities in connection with the quarrel that broke out inside a restaurant in the Dafna area in the capital, Doha, which was shown in video clips that were widely circulated on social media.

According to circulating data, the incident goes back to a quarrel that broke out between fans from Algeria and Jordan after the two teams’ match in the 2026 World Cup, before the competent authorities intervened and initiated the necessary legal procedures.

The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed, in an official statement, that the incident included behavior that violates the law that affects the safety of people and property and disturbs security and public order, noting that preliminary procedures have been completed against those arrested in preparation for referring them to the Public Prosecution.

The Ministry added that it will not tolerate any actions that would harm the security or stability of society, calling on everyone to adhere to the applicable laws and regulations and to exercise a spirit of responsibility.

Circulating information indicates that a number of those involved may face additional penalties that may include deportation or deportation from Qatar, according to the results of subsequent investigations and judicial decisions, while the Qatari authorities have not officially revealed the nationalities of those arrested or the details of their distribution between the two quarreling parties.
