Nouakchott –The Mauritanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Yacoub Ould Amine, received today, Wednesday, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China accredited to Mauritania, Tang Zhongdong, accompanied by the President of the Chinese Hohai University, Cheng Jinhai, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was devoted to reviewing Mauritanian-Chinese cooperation relations in the fields of higher education and scientific research, with a focus on mechanisms for developing partnerships between higher education institutions, expanding academic cooperation programs, and encouraging scientific and research exchange between Mauritanian and Chinese universities.
The two sides also discussed opportunities to support university training, enhance professor and student exchange programs, and develop joint scientific research projects, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of higher education and consolidating bilateral relations between Nouakchott and Beijing.
This meeting comes in the context of the continuing dynamism witnessed by Mauritanian-Chinese relations, which include several strategic sectors, including education, scientific research, infrastructure, and health, which reflects the two countries’ keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation and partnership to serve common interests.
